Clay objects painting.

These are clay pots and diyas in various shapes painted in fabric colours.

Vegetarian pineapple cake

This is a recipe made from left over pieces of tinned pineapple and curdled milk solids.

Ingredients

1.All purpose flour (maida)-2 cups
2.baking powder -1/2 tsp
3.baking soda -1/2 tsp
4.butter-4tbsp
5.Curd/curdled milk solids- 1 cup
6.chopped tinned pineapple 1/4 cup
7.powdered sugar- 1 1/2 cups.

Method:

Sift ingredients 1,2,and 3 together in a mixing bowl.Add the butter and sugar and blend well with a beater. Add the  curd or curdled milk solids and the pineapple pieces to the cake batter  and mix well. Consistency should be thick and smooth. Transfer the batter to a greased tin. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes at 160 degree Celsius.

Pot painting



This is an earthen pot, which is painted using fabric colours.Here, i have used the colours directly from the container without diluting it.

First a base coat of green colour is given. It is allowed to dry completely, before designs are drawn to decorate it.

Bee eater


This is my first abstract painting of European bee eater in oil.

 



Pumpkin pachadi



Ingredients:
Yellow pumpkin cubed and cooked - 1/2 cup
beaten curd - 1 cup
grated coconut - 3 tsp
green chillies - 2
few curry leaves  
salt to taste.
mustard seeds -1tsp
salt & oil - as required

Method:

Beat the curd with salt.
Grind the green chillies and coconut and add to the curd.
Add the pumpkin cubes to the curd.
Heat oil and mustard seeds in a frying pan. After it crackles, add the curry leaves and temper the pachadi.

This pachadi goes as a side dish for dal, upma, idli, dosa, etc.
